On Friday, Jan. 26, Gov. Jay Inslee and Trudi Inslee toured Innovation Hall and met with UW Bothell and Cascadia College students to hear what was on their minds.
In the limited time, questions and concerns ranged from incentives to convert cars into electric vehicles (from a student doing this very thing for his capstone project), a student sustainability club to support research on renewable energy and more courses on sustainability, support for low-income families to ensure they are not left behind as society moves forward, funding for a bike fleet and the need for physical books in a digital age. Students said the governor impressed them with his vast knowledge and ability to genuinely address their comments.
Governor Inslee closed by saying, “I’m very excited about your ambitions, and I’m going to look forward to your successes. I hope you stay in the state of Washington. and I’m going to look to you to build a clean energy economy starting right here. Go Dawgs.”
